In 1997, Jane and I spent 4 glorious months backpacking through India. Like many, we found the country both fascinating and challenging but also quickly understood that children, particularly girls, have limited choice due mostly to a lack of basic education. Terres des hommes is an organisation dedicated to improving the life of young Indian girls making education accessible through numerous 'grass root' programs. Through making a small donation you will not only bring purpose to my Berlin marathon experience but also help an Indian girl improve her chances to read, count and ultimately have choice.

terre des hommes - Hilfe für Kinder in Not! Unser Ziel ist eine"terre des hommes", eine"Erde der Menschlichkeit". Wir schützen Kinder vor Sklaverei und Ausbeutung, helfen Straßenkindern und Flüchtlingskindern und kümmern uns um die Opfer von Krieg, Gewalt und Missbrauch. Wir sorgen dafür, dass Kinder zur Schule gehen können und die Chance auf eine Ausbildung erhalten. Unsere Projektpartner vor Ort organisieren Selbsthilfeprojekte und betreuen Kinder in sicheren Kinderschutzzentren.
